Foundry has launched Swoop Travel, a site dedicated to adventure travel in Patagonia. Dan is responsible for ongoing technical management of the project, and for implementation of much of the backend and GIS features.
PostgreSQL, PostGIS and GeoDjango are used heavily in the site backend, allowing administrators to select landmarks and trip route information with pinpoint accuracy. The site also features a sophisticated content management system based on Django's FeinCMS, and integration with Twitter, Facebook and Google Maps.
Dan Fairs is now Technical Director of SecondSync, as well as continuing to run Fez and Foundry projects.
