ISM Fantasy Games

ISM Fantasy Games runs the official fantasy football games for the world's leading football leagues and confederations. After ten years building a highly scalable but completely bespoke Perl platform, ISM were finding recruitment and maintenance increasingly difficult. ISM chose to port their whole platform to Python and Django, simultaneously adding a REST API to support mobile native apps while continuing to support millions of active users and several clients on this multi-tenant system. They asked Dan Fairs to help achieve this ambitious goal.

Dan worked closely with staff at all levels within ISM, and assisted primarily with:

• Core software architecture, allowing new games and game types to be easily developed within the system for multiple clients using an innovative model generation approach
• Python and Django training
• Performance tuning
